Two long-standing, popular video game franchises are getting new additions this year. Let's take a good look.
2010 PS3 game release: Final Fantasy XIII
Square Enix’s best selling Final Fantasy series comes out with its most grandiose installment yet: Final Fantasy XIII. Already released in Japan last December 2009, the game’s English version is already completed. However, the European and North American release date is still set for March 9, 2010, as previously announced. Already a best-seller in Japan, this game promises to be even more successful internationally than previous Final Fantasy titles. Although Final Fantasy XIII still uses an active time battle (ATB) system, the game’s new Paradigm Shift option makes battles more exciting. Eidolons, last seen in Final Fantasy IV DS and Final Fantasy IX, also pack more action as they can be commanded like vehicles instead of just being used to cast magic attacks, like previous versions.
2010 PS3 game preview: God of War III
Also coming your way this March is God of War III, exclusively for the PS3 console. The demo was shown at E3 2009, with a generally favorable response. The gameplay mechanics are similar to previous God of War titles. However, better graphics, more weapons, harder battles, and more onscreen enemies promise to make the fifth God of War installment more epic. If you don’t want to take our word for it, you can get a God of War III demo along with the Blu-ray disc of the movie District 9, or by pre-ordering God of War III from selected online retailers.
Truly, 2010 is going to be an exciting year for gamers!
